St Lawrence Primary School is a co-educational Catholic school that caters for children from Kindergarten to Year 6. St Lawrence is recognised as a place of quality teaching and learning with a strong community spirit. The learning programme is strongly supported through our specialist teachers in the areas of music, art, french, library and ICT. Other programmes run at the school include RAISe, Bluearth and the Primary Connects Science approach.
What makes us ‘different’ to other like schools is the use of the “Fruit of the Spirit”. This programme is based on the nine Fruits of the Spirit and is interwoven with the day to day activity of the students. The Fruit, Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Gentleness, Faithfulness and Self Control are used as class and school focus points. Mediation is also a key part of our daily programme.
The school undertook major renovations and refurbishment throughout 2010 and into 2011 and the school is now looking fabulous! The landscaping is completed, the new canteen is fantastic, the refurbished library is colourful and fresh and our entrance signage proudly announces who we are. In addition, our new Kindergarten facility was opened this year, the construction of our new multi purpose court is near completion, and finally, we begin construction of two new classrooms and the remodelling of our southern car park facility towards the end of term three this year!
