Originally coming to prominence as part of the explosion of the roots scene, Carus Thompson is a gifted songwriter and storyteller. He travels, he observes and he writes it all down, but he is no disengaged cynic.

His energetic, passionate and genuine pub-rock approach to performance, sets him apart from the majority of singer-songwriters. He's no show gazer. He gives every gig his all, and he has built a legion of fans through Europe and Australia because of it.

Worldwide, Carus Thompson has sold over 30,000 albums independently and supported luminaries such as Dave Matthews, Damien Rice, Jack Johnson as well as good friends John Butler, Xavier Rudd and The Waifs. He’s wowed audiences at all the major festivals and after five studio albums continues to hold a well-earned reputation as one of this country's hardest working and best acoustic artists.

One of the few truly independent Australian troubadours to have a carved a full time living from his craft, years of touring have assured Thompson the enviable ability to draw hundreds of people anywhere he goes.

And having just returned back home to Fremantle after 14 years living between Melbourne and Europe, Carus is relishing the opportunity go get out and visit his old West Oz haunts and Geraldton was certainly one of his favourite places to play, always having packed out, rocking shows.
