Protective Behaviours parent program - evenings

  • Child and Parent Centre - Rangeway, Hovea Street (map)

93% of child secual abuse offenders are people that the child and the parents know and trust.
"I listen to my own early warning signs and if I don't feel right about my child sleeping over somewhere, I say no" - parent participant.

Delivered in schools, Protective Behaviours gives children the tools to understand the ownership of their body, the difference between surprises and secrets, and knowing whether they feel safe or unsafe. it empowers them to get help and talk to someone if they feel unsafe.
Through the parent program, you are encouraged to expand your relationship with your child to encourage them to talk about issues and events that concern them, even if they think they will get in trouble.
