Intriguing installation art pops up in Geraldton - ABC Mid West WA - Australian Broadcasting Corporation

Rat wheels, a taxidermied rooster and a heartbroken budgerigar feature in a curious pop-up art exhibition Geraldton.

Local artist Callum Battilana's work has been on display for ten days in a vacant room on the main street. Closing night is this evening, Friday Nov 9 from 4:00pm to 9:00pm.In keeping with Callum's whimsical demeanour, the exhibit is titled, The dugite likes mice but preferred frogs before the dam was contaminated by spray drift.

The conceptual works tell sad, quaint tales of love and loss, make interesting social comment and have people searching for meaning amid the intricate details.
