1 million views, New features, New look

Yesterday the Everything Geraldton website registered its 1 millionth page view, the app hit 6700+ downloads, and we finished a bunch of updates we've been working on for you.

Here's what's new

New Look

We've given the entire site a makeover, making it easier to navigate and find what you want.

The landing page (or homepage) is now the news feed, and there is just one menu at the top of the page for you to navigate. The footer contains links to a few extras.

A link to the latest news story and job vacancy will be at the bottom of the page, as will links to our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts.

Your Voice is quicker

The popular Your Voice section, where members of the community share news, comments, ask questions etc has had an overhaul, and now loads a LOT quicker and adds some much wanted features.

When someone comments on your posts now, you will receive an email notification.

You're able to scroll through posts much quicker, and if you don't like Facebook, you're able to comment on the posts with no problems.

Commenting options

Previously, you needed to use Facebook to comment on any news articles. Now on our website, you can comment using AOL, Yahoo or Hotmail log in's as well. For those who are Facebook averse, you can join in on the conversation with greater ease.

More Mobile Friendly

We've always tried to keep the site easy to use on a mobile, and we've improved it some more.

Images take up more of the screen, and text gets closer to the edges, so more content is visible on those small mobile screens.

The menu at the top of the screen is easier and quicker. If you're on a mobile now just press "Menu" to see a drop down of your navigation options.

Better Search

Under the title you'll see a search box that searches the entire site. It's powered by Google, and has a familiar look and feel to what you're used to. It's a great way to find something we posted ages ago, a business you might be looking for, or anything else Geraldton related.

There's another search box in the DIRECTORY, that one only searches businesses, clubs and organisations in the Everything Geraldton directory.

What's On is cleaner

The calendar on our What's on page is cleaner and tidied up a bit. Hopefully it will be even easier to find something to do, or share your community event.

Trailers

If you click on MOVIE TIMES, you'll see a link to Trailers. This is a recent addition, after receiving positive feedback from people who loved being able to watch the trailers in the app.

Classifieds

The classifieds section has been completely done over, and now adds a plethora of useful features that will make it easier to advertise your wares.

We've created a tonne of categories so anything posted can be easily found by people, rather than them having to scroll through endless streams of stuff.
