When they arrived, police discovered a 21-year-old male from Mount Tarcoola in possession of a Holden Commodore, parked in the car park of the Geraldton Surf Life Saving Club.
Police say the vehicle was surrounded by fresh burnt rubber marks on the asphalt and fresh rubber was located on the rear mud flaps. The interior of the vehicle contained smoke residue and had a distinct smell of burnt rubber within.
An Everything Geraldton user heard the commotion and also reported the incident on the Everything Geraldton app at around 10:40pm last night.
The vehicle was seized under Hoon Legislation for 28 days and the male was charged with causing excessive smoke.
He will face Geraldton Magistrates Court on 3 July 2014.
