Early Childhood Cook

We are seeking an experienced fun; home style Cook to prepare nutritious meals for our children aged 0-6 following our already tried and tested menu and recipes. 

If you are a passionate cook who is innovative and motivated and love to prepare delicious, homemade, healthy food, we would love to hear from you.

Your role

• Part Time (25 Hours Weekly, Monday to Friday)

• Have great time management skills, fast paced environment

• Providing healthy, nutritious meals from our daily menu 

Responsibilities

• Support the health and wellbeing of the children through planning and preparing nutritious meals and snacks

• Prepare meals to meet the needs of children with special dietary requirements and allergies

• Order food supplies in consultation with centre director

• Ensure safe and hygienic storage, handling and preparation of food and drinks

• Hold a current Working with Children’s Check

• Hold a I'M ALERT Food Safety certificate 

Full training will be provided from our food coordinator and ongoing support from management to the successful candidate.

Selection Criteria – essential/preferred skills 

• Proven experience in driving heavy vehicles 

• Understanding of and adherence to the Road Traffic Act with a safe driving record 

• Demonstrate an understanding of appropriate behaviour when engaging with young people

• Very good customer service skills with the ability to resolve problems and complaints

• Good mechanical aptitude

• Ability to work without supervision

• Good verbal and written communication skills

• Intermediate level computer competency

Mandatory requirements for the successful candidate (must be willing to obtain)

• Current Working with Children Check (WA) 

• Current Western Australia drivers’ Licence (Minimum MR Licence)

• Valid PTD Authorization

• National Police Clearance less than 3 months old

• Current HLTA1D003 Provide First Aid Certificate 

• Undergo a pre-employment medical - drivers must be able to meet medical standards for commercial vehicle drivers.

• Production of “Certificate of Demerit Points Record” no greater than one month prior to the time of application.
