Sustainable Christmas D.I.Y Workshops

  • Bunnings Geraldton 181 NW Coastal Hwy Wonthella, WA, 6530 Australia (map)

WHAT: Australians waste over four million tonnes of food each year, that’s enough waste to fill 450,000 garbage trucks1.

As the Christmas period is one of the biggest times for waste, Geraldton residents are invited to learn about composting, worm farms and recycling at Bunnings Warehouse Geraldton’s Sustainable Christmas D.I.Y Workshops on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 November.

Adult Composting and Worm Farm D.I.Y. Workshops will provide residents with the knowledge on how to build and maintain worm farms as well as tips on how to implement important recycling initiatives at home over the holidays.

Children will have the opportunity to take part in fun Christmas Craft D.I.Y. Workshops using recycled materials to make decorations, cards, wreaths and more.
Bunnings Warehouse Geraldton Complex Manager, Natalie Kennedy, encourages locals to take part in the Sustainable Christmas D.I.Y Workshops in November.

“Recycling and composting is important, particularly during the Christmas period when food wastage increases, and our D.I.Y. Workshops will help locals ensure they are doing their bit for the environment this holiday season,” Natalie said.

“Kids can also have some fun repurposing old egg cartons, bottle lids and other recycled products to make great Christmas gifts or decorations,” Natalie said.
