Help to bring Maxine Gregory Home

  • Freemasons Hotel 79 Marine Terrace Geraldton WA 6530 Australia (map)

The Event Fundraiser is happening Saturday 6th February 2016 from 6.30pm onwards. It's going to be a massive night with awesome music to party through the night with. Please come down and show your support and if you have made a donation please come down so we can thank you all and enjoy a night of entertainment. Heaps of prizes up for grabs with door prizes, raffles and a mini auction.

Maxine Gregory who has been a huge part of the Geraldton community her whole life has been in Perth since August 2015 due to health reasons and has a chance to come home but due to being on a pension cannot afford to purchase home health equipment. She has lived in Geraldton her whole life and about 7 years ago started home Peritenial Dialysis and due to infection and sickness had to be flown to Perth in August for a life saving operation.

Since then she has had to reside in Perth to get the care needed as the Haemo Dialysis Unit in Geraldton has a waiting list. Her son Zain Laudehr (a local singer and community member) was living and working in Karratha and relocated back to Geraldton and then to Perth to commence Training to provide Haemo Dialysis at home. The Haemo Unit will provide the machine and equipment to run Dialysis but we need shelving, Dailysis Chair, Containers, Tables and much more equipment.

Zain has been up and down from Perth to Geraldton and Karratha whilst providing care for his mother and he now has no job and they are both finding it hard financially and emotionally to deal with ever growing bills and upkeep of their household. Zain will be finished training mid to end of January and may even take longer going into February depending on his mums health. Please help this local family bring their mother home. We are looking for donations from businesses for shelving, the car he is transporting his mother to appointments and back to Geraldton when they get a chance is almost undrivable due to not having the funds to service his car.

Whilst helping his sister move his car sustained damage to a window and while driving his mum home for xmas a rock hit the windscreen. Maxine is well known for her work with Domestic Violence, and her awesome sand murals around town. She has been an integral part of the Geraldton Community for 61 years.

Zain is well know as a local singer and performer as well and has had to give up his full time job and put his newly started business in the background whilst trying to get his mum home. We are seeking donations to set up our home, rip up carpet and lay lino down, provide assisstance in fixing our roof to stop water leaking into the house, service our vehicle so we can make it to appointments, purchase a dialysis chair, shelving, hospital tables, and much needed plumbing and mould prevention in her bathroom.

Everything in their lives has been put second to his mums health and it would be greatly appreciated for all assistance. He will be looking at holding a fundraising concert once they get home to raise money needed for this transition and to thank all people donating to assist in this cause.
