Geraldton Science Festival Community Night
The Geraldton Science Festival will open the doors to the public for an evening the whole family will enjoy. Come down to explore the awesome Scitech exhibits, be blown away by cool science shows, hear fascinating presentations and visit stalls from various local and WA organisations.

Shows:
6pm — "Bubbles"
A 30-minute exploration of the science and fun of bubbles, with something relevant for all ages.
6:30pm — "Science of Sport"
Ever wondered if you could be smarter and more scientific about your sport? Wonder how great athletes use science to give them a competitive edge? Have a FitBit or heart rate monitor but don't know what to do with all that data?
A 30-minute session with presentations, Q&A and panel discussion with local experts about the science in sport:
Todd Teakle, Physiotherapist and owner at Central West Health and Rehabilitation and consultant to Mid West Academy of Sport http://centralwestrehab.com.au/index.php Todd uses science to assist with elite athletic performance as well as rehabilitation and prevention of injuries in everyday people.
Dirranie Kirby, from CrossFit Geraldton head Trainer and a trained Biologist http://www.crossfitgeraldton.com.au/?page_id=1942 "D" has played sport at a local and international level, worked as a professional biologist and now coaches hundreds of people a week in functional fitness.
Ben Freer, is a local triathlete who trains at least once a day using a variety of plans and science-based techniques, using tools like heart rate, power output, VO2 max and efficiency tests to measure and improve his performance.
7:00pm — "Element of Surprise"
A 30-minute show about the surprising aspects of science, especially suited to those curious scientific investigators.

All these organisations will have interactive displays and professional scientists sharing their insights, passion and ideas for science as a career or citizen.
