Storytelling and mindfulness research project call for participants aged 5 to 7 years

A Monash University post graduate student is seeking a small group of participants for an education research project in Geraldton.

Children aged 5 to 7 years are invited to participate in 6-week oral storytelling and awareness program that combines storytelling, mindful movement, breath & sensory awareness, imagination, visualisation, games, short adapted mindfulness practices (walking, sitting, body scan), and discussion.

The research will explore participants self-reported autonomous mindfulness practice, story comprehension and retell.

The program will be held for an hour each Monday at 4 pm at the Geraldton University Center.

Pre and Posttests will occur in week 1 and 6 between 4 and 5 pm on Tuesday at the Geraldton University Center.

A project date will be set once the required number of participants have registered.

This research project has received approval from the Monash University Human Research Ethics Committee (CF16/1163 –2016000626).
