'Sense of Place' Public Lecture

  • WA Museum Geraldton (2 Museum Pl, Geraldton) (map)

What is sense of place?

Sense of place is a social phenomenon that exists independently of any one individual's perception or experiences, yet is dependent on human engagement for its existence.

Join us and hear how a 'sense of place' can be derived from a mix of natural and cultural features in the landscape, and the people who occupy the place.

There will also be a special viewing of the 'Murchison elders pass on Indigenous cultural knowledge' film, as seen on national news, that was produced by ABC Mid West and Wheatbelt's Chris Lewis.

Speakers:

- Richard McLellan, NACC CEO

- Bianca McNeair, NACC Aboriginal Participation Officer

- Dr John Goldsmith, Celestial Visions
