Coast

  • Queens Park Theatre 75 Cathedral Avenue Geraldton, WA, 6530 Australia (map)

COAST is a theatre production commissioned and produced by the City of Greater Geraldton and staged in our Queens Park Theatre.

This project is made possible with funding from the Australian Government’s Building Better Regions Fund and the Western Australian Government’s Raise the Roof Funding Program.

After a long absence, a man returns to Geraldton with his pregnant wife. The joy of returning and rediscovering his affection for his home town is tempered however by a chance encounter with a charismatic young woman who provokes the couple to confront their own lives, identities and hopes for the future of their unborn child, and come to terms with the sometimes troubling, ghosts from the past.

Set in contemporary Geraldton, with historical flashbacks to the forces and events which forged Geraldton’s character, the play explores often in a comic way, the complexities and contradictions of the tricks, truths and distortions of memory and the positives and drawbacks of returning to a place where vivid and formative experiences occurred.

Première Opening of the play will be on Saturday from 6:30pm.

Catering supported by The Friends of QPT.

The play will start at 7:30pm. Matinée on Sunday will be at 2pm.

Suitable for ages 12+, performance is approximately 80 minutes long without interval.

Get your tickets early, it's a story about OUR town.... !!!

Early Birds end on Friday 27 September at 5pm.
