Mullewa Community Trust applications now open

Mullewa Community Trust applications now open:  November 6, 2013

Members of the Mullewa community can apply for funding through the 2013/14 Mullewa Community Trust for programs, activities or facilities that improve the quality of life of its residents.

Applications for the trust opened on October 18 and will close at 4pm on December 20, 2013. Applicants will be notified of the results by March 31, 2013.

The City of Greater Geraldton - that now recognises the former Shire of Mullewa as a Ward of the council - receives funding from Mt Gibson Mining Ltd through a Public Benefit Agreement to support projects that will provide long-term social benefit to Mullewa. This may be in the areas of youth leadership development, arts and cultural activities, sport and recreation, community welfare and tourism.

A specific reserve account has been established as part of this agreement and a committee known as the Mullewa Community Trust is empowered to recommend how the funds are allocated.

Community groups are encouraged to undertake joint grant applications and priority will be given to groups who demonstrate the greatest community needs.

Application forms and guidelines are available to download from the City’s website at www.cgg.wa.gov.au/residents/grants.
