Goodness Festival 2016 will run from 12 to 21 August 2016 and will showcase and celebrate science, technology, innovation and sustainability in the Mid West. Its purpose is to inspire and engage more than 3500 people in sciencerelated engagement activities through a 10 day festival around a central 'Hub'. The Hub will be both geographical (WA Museum Geraldton) and virtual (a website featuring videos, webcasts and social media).
Goodness Festival 2016 will create attractive, accessible opportunities for engagement with nature, science and innovation through a mix of seminars, workshops, tours and events, with some events webcast to a wider online audience. In addition, for the 10 days of Goodness Festival, the Festival Hub will run family-friendly, hands-on science-based activities aligned with the Festival themes.
In 2016, the Goodness Festival partners will focus on fewer, high-quality events with deeper partnerships, using digital technologies for delivery as well as marketing, and reaching out to audiences beyond Geraldton. Talks, tours and events will reach out to the community aligned with Festival themes. Through these and other strategies we are confident an even larger, more diverse audience will be even more deeply engaged.
