Water Police rescue crayboat

Shortly before 1.00am this morning, police were notified of an EPIRB activation in the vicinity of Cape Levillian in the state’s Midwest Gascoyne region.

A crayboat with two people on board were en route to Shark Bay‬ from Geraldton‬ when it is believed they raised the alarm following possible engine trouble.

Water Police coordinated the rescue which also involved the Dornier aircraft and the Shark Bay Volunteer Marine Rescue and the pair were thankfully located uninjured about 4.30am this morning. They are expected to arrive in Denham by 8.00am this morning.
