Busy night at airport - The West Australian

An emergency landing and two unexpected Qantas jets created a busy Saturday night at Geraldton Airport.

Passengers who had flown from Perth on a chartered twin-engine plane for the races at Geraldton Turf Club had a hair-raising return flight when the aircraft lost power in one engine five minutes after take-off.

After making a Mayday call, the pilot circled the airport for 15 minutes while emergency fire and rescue crews, ambulance and police assembled in readiness for the landing.
