Date set for local council elections - have you enrolled?

Local Government ordinary elections will take place on October 19, 2013. Residents of the City of Greater Geraldton are automatically enrolled to vote if they are on the State Electoral Roll as at 5pm Friday August 30, 2013. Residents not already on the State Electoral Roll who meet the eligibility criteria, or have changed address recently, must complete an enrolment form.

Non-resident owners or occupiers of rateable property in the City of Greater Geraldton and are on the State or Commonwealth Electoral Roll are also eligible to enrol to vote.

People who are not on the State or Commonwealth Electoral Roll and own or occupy rateable property in the City of Greater Geraldton may be eligible to vote. This applies if they were on the last electoral roll for the City of Greater Geraldton prior to May 1996 and have owned or occupied rateable property in the district continuously since this time.

For those not enrolled, electoral enrolment forms are available from the City of Greater Geraldton, all post offices, all Australian Electoral Commission offices or the Western Australian Electoral Commission and must be completed and reach a Divisional Returning Officer in Western Australia by 5pm Friday, August 30, 2013.
