Man tries to drag 18 year old woman from vehicle at a truck stop

In what can only be described as a harrowing ordeal, an 18 year old female travelling to Geraldton was attacked after stopping at a side of the road parking bay north of Eneabba yesterday.

While she was parked, she was approached by a man on a motorbike, who asked her for money.

When she refused to give him money, he tried to drag her from the vehicle.

The young woman managed to break free from his grip, and close the door and drive off.

She received minor grazes and scratching, and headed straight to Geraldton where she reported the incident to the Police.

Police would like your help in contacting the suspect.

He is described as 45-50 years old, caucasian (white), of medium to solid build.

He is approximately 165 to 175 cm tall,  (5 ft 4 - 5 ft 8), had a light brown goatee beard, and light brown shoulder length wavy hair.

He was wearing dark pants, dark leather type motor cycle jacket and full leather gloves, and also dark sunglasses at the time.

He was riding a dark coloured "Harley Davidson style" motor bike, though the exact make of the bike is uncertain.

It is believed the man was heading North.

Police hold grave concerns over the actual intentions of the man, and say that the young woman was very lucky to get away.

Police have also approached service stations along the road to gain access to their CCTV footage, and investigations are continuing.
