"To those who assisted in the rescue of Gerry Gould and who have offered their support and condolences, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. He was a wonderfully intelligent and funny man who not only made my mother the happiest I've ever seen, but who also gave so much time and money to the community and many various not-for-profit organisations. Gerry gave the absolute best of himself every minute of every day... to his work, his business, his political beliefs, and his family, and for that alone I have so much respect for.
To dear Audrey, Merryn, Peter, Bruce, Sarah, Natalie, James, Peter Jnr, Skye, Ben, my incredible partner Sean, the wonderful team at Geraldton Hydraulics and of course my incredible mother Patsy...my heart just aches for us all Mum, you are the most amazing woman i've ever come across and your strength during this time just blows me away.
To the first responders who attended the scene, the Police Officers involved, and the Medical Staff at the Geraldton Regional Hospital...what an amazing job you all do. Your professionalism and dedication to your work is nothing short of amazing.
The funeral will be at the Anglican Cathedral this Friday 27th September at 2.30pm, with the Wake at the Geraldton Yacht Club afterwards. (info in Guardian is incorrect).
As a family there has been a request for no flowers please, but to make a donation to the Royal Flying Doctor's Service on behalf of Gerry
Sending all my love to those who are grieving with us, and my utmost gratitude to those who have carried us through this incredibly difficult time xxx"
