Midwest Fishing Report by Tackleworld Country
/KALBARRI KALBARRI OFFSHORE-
Dean from Kalbarri sports and dive reported pink snapper, Dhu fish and bald chin 5-6kg offshore from the cliffs and nice coral trout to 75cm.
Yellow fin Tuna are on the bite with the odd sail fish getting hooked up and one lucky angler got a small black marlin trolling the red bluff, mackerel are starting to return as the water clears up.
RIVER-
The pens are firing with Big black bream, black spot snapper and mangrove jacks providing anglers good entertainment on light gear with IFISH SERIES Squidgies 70mm on a light jig head doing the damage and cube mulies lightly weighted ,up river is also producing good size bream.
Yellow fin whiting are moving in & around the sand flats, fishing the incoming tide will improve your chances, whiting like soft plastics. Squidgies critter are killers. Also try Berkley scum dogs for top water action.
BEACHES
DRUMMONDS COVE CAR PARKS -
Tailor and Sharks being caught late arvos and evenings.
RIVERS
GREENOUGH RIVER -
Giant herring to 75 cm are still on the bite around the mouth of the river, just remember to loosen off your drag if fishing for these monsters as they run like the clappers. Nice size bream are still around with fish from 30 to 35cm taking bait with prawns and mullet the pick of bait. Jack are still providing fun with the Twitchy crew doing well last week
ROCKWALLS
LOCAL ROCK WALLS -
Reports of Tailor to 40cm and mulloway to 10kg from behind the Fishermans wharf rock walls.
Again this week we have been flooded with reports of Cod being caught from inside the harbours, Cod between 30 and 60cm have been common. Soft plastics and live baits have been the preferred method.
More reports of mackerel at the disabled platform and small school shark and tailor as well.
OFFSHORE
MAIN CHANNEL -
Small sambos and Skippy can be caught around the channel markers.
PENSIONERS BANK -
Due to the winds and swell pensioners has quietened off, but those who managed to get out for a troll got mackerel to 15kg.

Tailor have slowed up a bit, with the odd fish from 30-40cm
