Several drink drivers over the weekend

Geraldton Police on Twitter: "Chapman Valley Road crash- crumpled mess in the trees used to be a Mazda ute! Alcohol suspected- don't drink + drive."

Several incidents of motor vehicle accidents involving suspected drunk drivers occurred over the weekend.

A 35-year-old Hamilton Hill man had his bail refused and will face Geraldton Magistrates Court this morning charged with Driving under the Influence after his vehicle rolled on Chapmen Valley Road at about 11am on Saturday, September 20.

It will be alleged that the alcohol reading was 0.151% at the time of the accident.

Also on Saturday, a 21-year-old Rangeway male was charged after he was stopped in Utakarra with a blood alcohol level in excess 0.08% and failing to give way at a stop sign. He will appear in the Geraldton Magistrates Court later this month.
