City encourages community members to stand for Council

It’s election year and the City of Greater Geraldton is encouraging passionate individuals to come forward and take a stand for Council.

City of Greater Geraldton Mayor, Ian Carpenter, said being part of your local government Council is a great opportunity to work with the community and make a difference.

“Being a Councillor gives everyday people the opportunity to make positive decisions for their community, it’s also a big responsibility because your decisions can affect the community in many positive ways,” he said.

Interested candidates are invited to attend an information session and learn more about Council at a briefing held at the City Civic Centre Function Room on Cathedral Avenue.

The session will commence at 5.30pm on Monday 24 August, 2015.
