Following requests from some local retailers, the City of Greater Geraldton applied to the Minister for Finance; Commerce; and Small Business, the Hon Simon O’Brien MLC seeking approval for additional trading hours in the City on the Monday public holiday of the Australia Day weekend, January 28.

The Minister has approved extended hours allowing general retail shops within the City of Greater Geraldton to trade when they would normally be closed.

Retailers can open between the hours of 9am and 5pm on Monday, January 28, however the decision to open rests with the individual trader.
