New CEO appointed for City of Greater Geraldton

At a Special Meeting of Council on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 City of Greater Geraldton Council endorsed the appointment of Mr Ken Diehm to take up the reins after outgoing CEO Tony Brun completes his contract in June this year.

Mr Diehm was selected after Council’s CEO Recruitment Committee - consisting of Mayor Ian Carpenter and Councillors Tarleah Thomas, Chris Gabelish and Shane Van Styn – recommended him as the preferred candidate for the position.

Mr Diehm brings a wealth of experience to the role from his position as Director Townsville Water and Waste at Townsville City Council in Queensland; a directorate of more than 350 employees.

Mr Carpenter welcomed him to the role and said Council looked forward to working with him.

“Council was impressed with Ken’s qualifications, experience and excellent references,” he said.

Mr Diehm will take up the position on April 22.
