Geraldton's Creative and Digital Entrepreneurs Emerge

This Friday 22nd February will see local creative and digital entrepreneurs gather at CityHive as part of an international conference.

Pollinators Inc are inviting film-makers, media, artists, designers, web developers and marketers to join in the Emergence Creative conference from 9:30 to 5:30 at CityHive, 12 Post Office Lane, Geraldton.

Thanks to the Emergence Creative organisers and technology partner CISCO, participants in Geraldton will be able to watch, listen, and interact with presenters at the live conference in Margaret River. Presenters on the day include co-founder of Google Maps, Vice-President of Growth at Twitter, Pixar animators, filmmakers, academics and investors.

Pollinators Inc have organised the event to support the emerging local creative and digital scene, and also showcase the benefits of coworking, creative ‘hubs’ like CityHive and the benefits of using technology like CISCO’s WebEx and Jabber.

Pollinators Executive Officer Andrew Outhwaite said, “The technology we’re using for this event really shows the way for conferences and sharing learning in the future. Participants will be able to ask questions, make comments and chat with people at the conference while hanging out in a creative shared workspace in Geraldton. This will create that real conference feel without having to pay the expense or spend time traveling.”

“We’ve had designers, tech entrepreneurs, government and corporate staff all sign-up to learn more about telling better digital stories, community engagement growing their ventures or just hearing from people on the cutting edge of creative and social technology. In fact, we’ve had calls with people in Kalgoorlie who also want to join, which we can accommodate thanks to the technology we’re using.”
