Make it a classic Mother’s Day in Geraldton!

More than 125,000 people across Australia will participate in the Mother’s Day Classic this year – and in 2013, the residents of Geraldton can too!

The Mother’s Day Classic is the nation’s largest fun run/walk that raises money for breast cancer research. On Sunday 12 May, you can be a part of this special event by joining the Geraldton team.

The Geraldton Mother’s Day Classic will start at 8:30am at the Geraldton Foreshore, in front of the POSH Function Centre on Sunday 12th May. Participants have the option to walk or run either 4km or 8km’s. Registrations can be completed on the day from 7am until  8:30am. Each participant is provided with a Show Bag and Medallion upon completion of the course. There will be a bouncy castle and face painting for the kids, as well as a morning tea and Sausage Sizzle. And another big draw card - FRESH GROUND COFFEE ON SITE!

“Whether you walk, run, cheer or volunteer, you’re helping to fund essential research.” Melissa Latham, event organiser.

The funding raised by Women in Super’s Mother’s Day Classic has supported 18 researchers across Australia investigating all aspects of breast cancer. Research has led to improved detection and treatment for the disease resulting in a 27 per cent decrease in mortality since 1994.

The Geraldton Harriers is hosting the event in conjunction with the Mother’s Day Classic Committee.
