Did you see this accident occur? Police need help

Just after midnight on the morning of Monday 22 July 2013 a white Nissan utility left Durlacher Street near Maitland Street, Geraldton. The vehicle rolled over and damaged a gas main, causing a significant gas leak and came to rest on it’s side in the car park of Eagle Boy’s Pizza.

Upon police arrival the vehicle’s occupants were not located.

Police blocked off Durlacher Street to all traffic for a number of hours whilst Alinta Gas Emergency crews secured the gas leak and made the area safe.

Based upon initial witness accounts Police believe the vehicle was occupied by at least two light skinned males at the time of the crash, one of whom is believed to have a pre-existing injury and was utilising crutches. Geraldton Police now seek public assistance to identify the occupants of the vehicle at the time of the crash, and seek any witnesses to either the crash itself or any witnesses who observed the occupants depart the scene following the crash.
