High speed pursuit

Early this morning, before 1:00am, police responded to a burglary in Bluff Point during which personal belongings, car keys and a burgundy Honda CRV were stolen.

Police say that at 2.37am, they observed the stolen vehicle on North West Coastal Highway, Webberton.

Police say the vehicle failed to stop when requested and a pursuit resulted through the suburbs of Spalding, Webberton, Strathalbyn, Worree, Utakarra, Rangeway and Karloo.

One local resident who contacted Everything Geraldton said they heard the chase clearly, stating that the vehciles "flew" past their house on Clematis Cres at around 2:50am, which was some feat due to their street being horseshoe shaped.

Police aborted their pursuit when the stolen vehicle entered bushland in Karloo.

The stolen vehicle was located a short time later abandoned in nearby bushland.

Geraldton Police are continuing inquiries regarding the incident.
