The City of Greater Geraldton will be undertaking consultation to inform the City’s new Positive Ageing Plan.
The City’s Positive Ageing Plan will highlight the community’s aspirations for positive ageing and set out some ways the City can support the community in reaching these aspirations.
Queen Elizabeth II Seniors and Community Centre Coordinator, Rosetta Finlay, will be the Project Coordinator for the strategy with support from the Community Development and Empowerment team.
The City of Greater Geraldton Community Development and Empowerment Manager, Renee Ellis, said the City will have conversations with the community about how the City can promote social inclusion, enhance wellbeing and create opportunities for positive ageing. The City will begin these conversations with the community by distributing a survey and hosting a workshop.
“The survey and workshop will provide the City with information on health, well-being, safety, services, programs, life-long learning, communications, information, employment, volunteering, engagement, transport and housing issues facing seniors in the Greater Geraldton region,” said Ms Ellis.
The survey can be done by clicking here.
“Results from the survey will then be used to inform the design of the strategic workshop, which will be held at the QEII Centre,” she said.
The survey will close at 4pm on Friday, November 15 2013. For more information, contact Rosetta Finlay on 9921 2684 or email to rossettaf@cgg.wa.gov.au.
