Respect goes both ways in retail

An Everything Geraldton community member contacted us today asking us to remind people that retail staff deserve to be treated like humans. She said:

I had a call from my partner who works in retail. He was serving a customer and a lady across the store was whistling and yoo-hooing to get his attention. He ignored her as what she was doing was rude. She then approached him and asked why the hell she was being ignored. He said, you were on the phone and trying to get my attention by whistling at me like a dog. If you had come over and politely ask for some help he would have been more than happy to help her. She stormed out. People are so rude in this town demanding respect and customer service when it works both ways.

Do you think she was rude, or is the customer always right?
