Litter warning for local residents

The City of Greater Geraldton is warning residents to secure loads on vehicles when driving to the Meru Waste facility after reports of excessive litter on Edward Road.

Due to the amount of litter left on the road, City Rangers will conduct random patrols in the vicinity of Edward Road and drivers risk being fined.

In accordance with the Litter Regulations Act, driving a vehicle with an unsecured load in a public place can incur a maximum $5000 penalty.

The City encourages people to adhere to the regulations and secure their loads to avoid a fine and to help keep Edward Road litter free.
